Facebook Messenger Integration

Integrating Messenger with LinkAI allows your custom agent to communicate directly with customers via your Facebook pages. It also allows you to take over the conversation whenever you want and communicate with users yourself through Messenger. This provides a seamless and efficient way to handle inquiries and automate responses, while giving you the freedom to talk to your customers whenever you want.

Integration Steps

Navigate to Your Agent

Go to your LinkAI dashboard and select the agent you want to connect

Access Integrations

Navigate to Connect > Integrations

Connect or Manage

Click on Connect if it’s your first time, or Manage if you’ve connected pages before

Grant Permissions

Allow LinkAI to use your Facebook information. If you’ve integrated before and want to modify, pick Edit Previous Settings.

Select Pages

Choose which pages to integrate:
  • Opt into current pages only - Select specific pages
  • Opt all current pages - Integrate all pages on your account

Review Permissions

Review the permissions and click Save

Complete Setup

Click Done and wait for the integration to connect (takes a few seconds)

Manage Pages

Once connected, manage your pages through the Messenger dashboard. Add new pages or delete existing ones using the three dots menu.

Human Takeover Feature

Take control of any conversation and chat with users yourself:

Navigate to Activity

Go to Activity through the Navbar or Messenger dashboard

Filter Messenger Chats

In the Chat logs section, show only Messenger chats

Enable Takeover

Click the human takeover icon to the right of source

Chat Manually

You can now respond directly. The AI stops responding to this conversation.

Restore AI

Click the icon again to restore AI access
Note: Conversations may not have the takeover icon if you deleted a page from the integrations dashboard. Be careful when deleting pages as this affects the takeover feature.

Multiple Agents for Different Pages

Connect different agents to various Facebook pages for specialized interactions:

Access Manage Page

Navigate to Activity > Integrations > Manage

Delete Page (If Reassigning)

Click Manage, then delete the page you want to reassign

Connect New Page

Click Connect a new Facebook Page and ensure you’re on the correct agent

Edit Previous Settings

Click Edit previous settings to modify page selections

Select Pages

Select the page you want to add. If already selected, just click Next.

Save

Click Save to complete the connection
Don’t deselect any agent you want to stay connected to LinkAI, as deselecting will disable that agent.

Respond within 1 minute to maintain Facebook’s “Very responsive to messages” badge
Provide button options for common questions to guide conversations
Use customer names and reference their specific inquiries
Send images, product catalogs, and files when relevant
Include clear calls-to-action: “Shop Now”, “Book Appointment”, “Learn More”

Troubleshooting

Integration fails:
  • Verify you have admin access to the Facebook Page
  • Check that the page is published (not in draft mode)
  • Ensure you’ve granted all required permissions
Agent not responding:
  • Verify integration is still active
  • Check that the agent is enabled
  • Review agent logs for errors
Human takeover not available:
  • Check if page was deleted and re-added
  • Verify integration is connected
  • Ensure you’re viewing correct agent
